Julian Missig has an interesting

Julian Missig has an interesting writeup of the iChat interface. I'm particularly intrigued by his explanations for why he likes iChat's bubbles and user icons. I didn't like either of those at first -- I thought they were silly and turned them off right away -- but I turned them on about a week later and have kept them on ever since. iChat's the first IM client I've ever found to be very usable, and its UI, though unusual, is the primary reason why I've kept using it. It just works, it's easy to understand, and it doesn't get in the way. Of course, with Jens Alfke as the primary author, it has to be terrific. Jens is simply that good.
