Southwest flies to Philly!
Southwest Airlines will start flying into Philadelphia in May. Wow! It’s always been so expensive to fly into Philadelphia because about 60% of the airport’s traffic is from U.S. Airways. Southwest brings both a terrific airline and serious pricing competition to the airport at the same time. That’s absolutely wonderful news for the Philadelphia airport, and, depending on what the routes are — they won’t be announced until December — it may make going home a lot easier.

Southwest also started flying non-stop between San Jose and Baltimore recently, which was good news for me.
But “Southwest” is become somewhat of a misnomer isn’t it?

I come from one of those cities mostly dominated by a single airline, but Southwest, despite a pretty significant secondary presence, has never turned out to be much help for long trips. The cross-country prices aren’t any better than on other airlines, and it’s usually a three-hop flight between California and the Midwest. May the service to Philly prove more useful to you…

Have you flown Jet Blue yet? Once you’ve flown Jet Blue, I’m pretty sure Southwest won’t excite you quite as much
Can’t wait for Jet Blue to fly everywhere I need them to.
