In other news, drag and

In other news, drag and drop now works in Samson. Yay! Better yet, it works from the CodeWarrior Pro 8 build. I can’t say anything about Pro 8 yet, but after some initial stumbling blocks I’ve been quite happy with it. It’s great to see Metrowerks demonstrating why it’s sometimes worthwhile to pay for tools when free alternatives are available.

Up next is double- and triple-click support (word and line selection). Carbon conveniently has a click count parameter in mouse-down events, so that should be easy.

So BlogApp didn’t work out

So BlogApp didn’t work out quite as well as I’d hoped. It uses Apple’s XML-RPC engine, which seems to be a bit overeager about encoding things. Apostrophes come through as “'”, for example. I use enough apostrophes to make that issue a deal-breaker. Grr. Looks like I’ll have to write my own Radio blogger eventually after all.

After a bit of confusion

After a bit of confusion with Radio — for some reason it wasn’t too happy about being updated from version 8.0.2 all the way to 8.0.7 — I’ve now got it working with BlogApp. Nifty. Now I’ve got an environment that’s close to what I was hoping for when I first downloaded Radio. Maybe I’ll get around to writing a cool WYSIWYG editor for Radio some day, but now that can wait a little longer.

And only three months after

And only three months after the last post, I ran into a product called Radio Poster at Versiontracker. That took me to the author’s blog (Will Leshner is his name), which in turn took me to Dave Winer’s blog. From there I ended up at Steve Zellers’ blog, and Nicholas Riley’s blog, and finally at Patrick Beard’s blog. And you know, if all the cool kids are doing it, it’s gotta be fun, right?

So here I am with a nice, sparkly serial number for Radio, ready to give this a shot. I just have to find a good posting program, or else find the time to write my own (sorry Will…yours isn’t quite what I’m looking for yet).
